Arnold Leibovit is an award-winning writer, producer, and director of feature films and musical productions. An acting member of the Producers Guild of America, he has written, directed, and produced several feature films, including The Fantasy Film Worlds of George Pal,[1] a biopic of George Pal,[2] and The Puppetoon Movie.[3]

In 2002 he served as the executive producer of The Time Machine.[4] Leibovit had earlier obtained the rights to the H.G. Wells book and the 1960 MGM motion picture The Time Machine through the George Pal estate. He then later produced this $80 million remake with DreamWorks / Warner Brothers.

Other Film Work

1) Associate director/editor for "Rascal Dazzle" (1980),[5] a King World/Picture Scores Film Production featuring the Hal Roach Our Gang comedies and narrated by Jerry Lewis, music by Nelson Riddle.

2) Wrote, directed, and produced the short film on mechanical toy banks titled "Penny Lane" (1975),[6] produced in association with the Mechanical Bank Collectors of America.[7]

3) Produced the DVD re-release (1999) of The Great Rupert which was George Pal's first feature film starring Jimmy Durante and Terry Moore.

4) Directed Neil Simon's Star Spangled Girl at the 2005 Neil Simon Comedy Festival in Cedar City, UT.

Musical Productions

1) Produced the first original soundtrack release for the 1960 MGM motion picture The Time Machine working and re-scoring with its original composer Russell Garcia.

2) Production Executive for the original Broadway Chicago musical comedy Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?

3) Produced a 2004 CD “The Fantasy Film Music of George Pal” covering Pal's features at MGM/Warner Bros. (1958–1975).[8][9]

Leibovit's Current Work

Producing a sequel to The Time Machine (2002 film) which continues the adventures of H.G. Wells' "Time Traveler" hero.

Remaking George Pal's classic 7 Faces of Dr. Lao,[10] based upon the satiric cult classic "The Circus of Dr. Lao" by Charles G. Finney. In this film, a strange turn-of-the-century Chinese man and his mysterious circus of mythological creatures transforms, for the better, the close-minded people of Abalone, Arizona, by compelling its citizens to relive their deepest demons.
